Yesterday, Kappa Alpha Pi hosted their criminal justice panel. We were fortunate to host a variety of professionals in the criminal justice space here in Ann Arbor, including Washtenaw County Assistant Public Defenders Odetalla Odetalla and Jay Belanger, Michigan Innocence Clinic fellow Olivia Vigiletti, and Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan Law Imran Syed. Our speakers shared insight about how they can take on sensitive work while maintaining their mental well-being, finding unconventional opportunities to test our interest in law, and the value of public service. Thank you to all of our panelists! We are beyond grateful for your fantastic session!

This post is for Kappa Alpha Pi - University of Michigan alums. If you all can believe it, we joined 17 years ago and the fraternity is still going strong. I spoke at a Tuesday meeting this year and participated in the mentorship program which were both very rewarding. The current alumni chairs Sarah Mojica Arango (one of my mentees) and Akita Kotian are looking to involve old alumni like us in new ways this year through expanding the mentorship program and additional networking opportunities.First step is make to sure KAPi has your update to contact information - for the lawyers and non-lawyers too. Please take a minute to fill out this brief survey and connect with the tagged LinkedIn account so KAPi can contact you outside of your old umich email address: https://lnkd.in/gYsEd-Kg
