Destinations we offer > Egypt > El Andelous Apt, Sahl Hasheesh

Sahl Hasheesh is a purpose built resort 18 km south of Hurghada. Set in a beatiful bay its coastal location affords great views of the Red Sea Mountains and the sea alike.

The resort is a mixture of hotels and self catering apartments. A paved promenade ambles along the entire beachfront and is ideal for the sunset stroll. The pier vies for this honour and provides a panoramic view of the bay and Old Town.

Below the pier is the Sunken City, a replica of an underwater temple of structures and columns which serves as a playground for an array of colourful fish, and is popular with snorkelers.

El Andelous is a new complex of self catering apartments situated near the impressive pier,to the east of the new resort of Sahl Hasheesh.

The apartment has two twin bedrooms with cupboards, dressing tables and bedside tables. There is a fully kitted kitchen area, complete with hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, toaster and kitchenware. There is a six seater dining table and the lounge includes a settee (convertible to a bed), two sofas, footstool, dressing mirror, Satellite TV, DVD.

Generally the diving is easy with depths ranging down to 25m max. The conditions are ideal for photographers and there are opportunities for really wide angle shots as well as plenty of close up and macro images.

House Reefs

The Sunken City is best dived in the early morning to catch the dappled light as the sun comes up. This is close by the pier and extending the dive to the pier is easy and both of these relatively new features are developing a good variety of marine life.

Boat Dives

The local reefs are a short boat ride away and have an abundance of marine life attracting larger dive boats and live-aboards. Dive sites include Abu Hasheesh where the dive starts on the outside of the wall where you swim through a wide gully between two walls where there are many ergs and coral formations. There are large shoals of goatfish and yellow snappers, Angelfish, clownfish, pipefish, butterflyfishes, blue spotted ray, shoals of sgt, big eyes and much more. Octopus may be found here and nice table corals.

Ras Disha is nearby where you can spot many of the reef fishes of the Red Sea and may encounter reef sharks, tuna and dolphins. The reef is densely covered with soft and hard corals and scorpionfish and stonefish may be found awaiting their prey. Careful observation of the bottom is worthwhile and you may find Red Sea Walkman and Moth Fish. Large calamari may be found under the surface and and a turtle taking a breath before its next dive.
